The flux used during the conventional induction brazing process is often the cause corrosion and burns on the workpiece. Flux inclusions may also lead to an impairment of the component properties. Furthermore, due to the existing oxygen in the atmosphere discoloration of the workpiece occurs.
These problems can be avoided when brazing under inert gas or vacuum. The inert gas method can be very well combined with the inductive heating as there is no open flame during induction brazing under protective gas and the flow-related conditions can be better controlled.
